The Decomposition of Glucose & Phenol COD by H_(2)O_(2)/Fe

Abstract
|

|
This study was performed to find- out the destruction degree of organic contaminants, glucose and phenol, by H2O2/Fe. The results of COD measured after reacting glucose and phenol each with H202 in the column which contains particulate Fe are followed, The optimum pH value at the reaction for the COD removal of glucose and phenol was less than 5. The optimum molarity ratios of H2O2 for the COD removal to glucose and phenol were 2.5 and 6.0 respectively. The maximum efficiency of COD removal of glucose was 53.8% and that of phenol was 76.9%. As the last one of the results, the, COD removal rate of glucose was faster than that of phenol relatively.
